Wereldhave Belgium is a listed Belgian real estate investment company with a portfolio of shopping centers, retail parks and office properties across Belgium and Luxembourg. Based at our headquarters, you will become part of an experienced Finance team responsible for delivering accurate, transparent and efficient financial reporting. You will have the opportunity to build broad expertise while contributing to the continuous improvement of our financial processes.

How will you make a difference within our organisation?

As a Junior GL Accountant, you will contribute to the accurate and timely financial reporting of our Belgian and Luxembourg entities. You will support the quarterly and annual closing process, work closely with colleagues across Finance and other internal departments, and play an important role in our day to day financial operations.

Your responsibilities as a Junior GL Accountant

  • Support the quarterly and annual closing process.
  • Prepare and reconcile General Ledger accounts.
  • Process payroll journals and payroll transfers.
  • Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions and intercompany interest.
  • Support the Accounts Payable Accountants in their daily activities.
  • Prepare and submit VAT and corporate tax returns.
  • Prepare customer listings.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual financial statements.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Contribute to financial analyses and reporting for Management and the Board of Directors.
  • Help identify opportunities for process improvements, digitalisation and system optimisation.
  • Support financial integrations and migrations related to acquisitions and disposals.

Your profile

  • You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, preferably in Accountancy and Tax.
  • You have initial relevant experience in an accounting role.
  • You have a basic understanding of VAT and corporate taxation.
  • You work accurately, in a structured manner and have strong attention to detail.
  • You have an analytical mindset and enjoy taking ownership.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and have a good command of both French and English.
  • Experience with SAP and strong Excel skills are considered an asset.
