Shopping 1

Genk, Belgium (shopping centre)

DESCRIPTION
Shopping 1 is the oldest shopping center in Belgium, built in 1967 and was given an extensive facelift in 2014. By acquiring the interest held by Redevco Retail Belgium in Shopping 1 in April 2012, Wereldhave Belgium currently holds 86% of the ownership rights. Important tenants are Albert Heijn, Sports Direct, JD Sports, Actions, The Fashion Store, New Yorker, April and Hunkemöller. In addition to chain stores, there is also a range of local entrepreneurs.
In addition to a general renovation, the shopping center was expanded to 27,100 m² GLA. The car park now offers space for 1,250 cars (previously 720 pp) and space has been made on the 1st floor for the future "Food.Break" concept.

The building is BREEAM certified, 'VERY GOOD'.
